The Sports 8V is a street motorcycle from Moto Guzzi, one of the oldest European motorcycle manufacturers. The Sports 8V is one of the four motorcycles that Moto Guzzi offers in India. The Sports 8V is brought here through the CBU route.The Sports 8V gets a V-Twin 1151cc 8-valve engine producing a maximum of 108bhp and 108Nm of torque. Unlike most motorcycles, it is a longitudinally-mounted engine despite being in a V configuration. It gets a six-speed gearbox and is shaft driven. The motorcycle is built on a steel spine chassis and gets telescopic hydraulic fork suspension at front and single arm with progressive linkage at the rear. Stopping power comes from four-piston radial calipers biting into two 320mm discs at the front and a single 282mm disc at the rear. It gets a 120/70 ZR17 tyre at the front and a 190/55 ZR17 tyre at the rear.It is 2195mm long, 840mm wide, 1440mm tall and has a 1160mm wheelbase. The motorcycle tips the scales at 252kg. The Moto Guzzi Sports 8V has no direct competition in India in its price bracket, but a Honda VFR1200F might be considered an alternative.
