The Benelli TRK502X is the off-road version of the road-biased TRK 502. While both motorcycles share the same powerplant and majority of the cycle parts, the X packs a few additional features, thereby making it a more capable off-roader.Built around a steel trellis frame, the TRK 502X sports a similar design language as the TRK 502. It receives the same beak-like front with a twin headlamp unit completed with a big windscreen on top. The motorcycle has a seat height of 840mm and ground clearance of 220mm which is 30mm more than the standard 502. The motorcycle comes sprung with 50mm inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear with rebound and damping adjustment. To take on off-road duties, it features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel shod with Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres. Braking is done by 320mm petal dual discs with floating calipers for the front and a 260mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the back. For motive force, the TRK 502X is powered by a 500cc parallel twin-cylinder DOHC unit that is rated to deliver 47bhp of max power at 8500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the TRK 502X features a slightly shorter final drive for better torque multiplication. The TRK 502X carries a sticker price of Rs 5.4 lakhs ex-showroom, which is introductory. At that price, the motorcycle doesnt face any direct competition. However, its closest rival is the SWM Superdual T sold in India.
