BMW F 850 GS Adventure [2018-2019] (Pro)

The BMW F850 GS Adventure, like its name suggests, is based on the F850 GS. And the Adventure suffix not only defines the bikes character but also adds equipment to make it even more capable off the road.

The F850 GS Adventure follows a styling similar to the F850 GS although with redesigned bodywork. The front beak is wider and the bike also sports wind deflectors, a tall-windscreen, redesigned radiator shrouds along with a larger luggage rack and engine guard. Furthermore, BMW has equipped the F850 GS Adventure with a 23-litre fuel tank that is eight litres bigger than the unit on the standard bike. The weight of the bike has also increased and it has a kerb weight of 244kg; 15kg heavier than the F850 GS.

The motorcycle rides on spoke wheels; a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear shod with dual-purpose rubber. The suspension hardware on the F850 GS Adventure has been tuned to offer more travel. While the inverted forks have 230mm of travel, the monoshock at the rear offer 215mm of suspension travel. There is no difference in terms of powertrain and the F850 GS Adventure is powered by the same 853cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor as the F850 GS. This unit churns out 95bhp of power and 92Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of its electronics, the F850 GS Adventure comes with ABS, ASC (Automatic Stability Control), traction control and two riding modes. The motorcycle also gets a 6.5-inch Bluetooth enabled TFT display and LED lighting for the tail lamp, headlamp and turn signals.

BMW is offering the motorcycle in the top-spec Pro version and Rallye colour scheme which consists of blue and silver with golden wheels. As for competition, the BMW F850 GS Adventure competes against the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA in India.
