Description

Recently BMW Motorrad stepping into the Indian motorcycle market has a total of 11 motorcycles on offer. The S1000RR is BMWs offering in the super sport segment. Prior to being a production motorcycle, the S1000 R was a sport bike that BMW produced to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship.The S1000RR is a fully faired motorcycle with an asymmetrical facial design. On the left of the fairing of the S1000RR is a gill-like design to add more aggression to its styling. The fairing encloses an aluminium composite bridge frame, partially self-supporting the engine.Powering the S1000RR is a 1000cc in line four liquid cooled engine. The S1000RR produces 199bhp at 13,500rpm and 113Nm of torque at 10,500rpm mated to a six speed gearbox.

The S1000RR also gets adjustable up-side down forks for the front. The S1000RR also gets compression and rebound adjustable suspension at the rear mounted on its aluminium swing arm. To take care of the stopping responsibilities, the S1000RR is equipped with a twin 320mm floating disc brake up front and a 220mm single disc brake. To aid the rider, The S1000RR is also equipped with a switchable BMW Motorrad race ABS with different modes to select from. The S1000RRs riding modes include Rain, Sport and Race. The S1000RR also offers Dynamic damping controls and Dynamic traction controls.The S 1000 RR gets three colours to choose from – black and grey, white and blue and white and red.The BMW S 1000 RR competes with the Yamaha YZF-R1, Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Kawasaki ZX-10R and the Suzuki GSX-R1000.
