Ducati Diavel 1260 [2018-2019] (Standard)

The Ducati Diavel 1260 is the second-generation of the Italian manufacturers power cruiser motorcycle. It was globally unveiled at the 2018 EICMA and receives cosmetic and mechanical changes as compared to the previous Diavel. It is offered in a higher-spec S variant in India.

In terms of design, the Diavel 1260 continues to get a muscular appeal although it borrows styling cues from the XDiavel and hence is meaner and more aggressive. It sports a horseshoe-shaped LED DRL, a split-LED tail lamp along with LED self-cancelling turn indicators. The Diavel 1260 also sports twin slash-cut exhausts and a single-sided swingarm that exposes the rear wheel. Moreover, the floating-seat design shows off the massive 240/45 section rear tyre that completes the Diavel 1260s power cruiser appeal.

The Diavel 1260 uses a 1262cc, L-twin motor that is tuned to deliver 157bhp of power and 129Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. To tame all that power, Ducati has equipped the bikes electronic package with a six-axis IMU, optional quick shifter (standard on S variant), cornering ABS, eight-levels of traction control, eight-levels of wheelie control, a launch control and a cruise control system. It also gets a 3.5-inch TFT colour display that is Bluetooth enabled.

As for cycle parts, it uses adjustable 50mm inverted forks for the front while the higher-spec S variant features 48mm Ohlins inverted forks. Braking on the standard model is done by Brembo M4 calipers at the front whereas the Diavel 1260 S sports higher-spec M50 calipers. At the rear, both models use a single-disc with a floating caliper.

The Diavel 1260 is being offered in two colour schemes of Sandstone Grey and Thrilling Black along with a Dark Stealth paint that is exclusive to the Diavel 1260 S. In terms of competition, it will go up against another power-cruiser in the form of the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob.
