Ducati Multistrada 1200 (1200 S Sport)

Ducati introduced the Multistrada as a bike that can be ridden fast on a tarmac as well as on rough terrains in a comfortable upright position. It is an aggressive looking hybrid of a supermoto and a sport touring motorcycle.The Ducati Multistrada has evolved a lot since its introduction in 2003, not just design wise, but mechanically as well. A new model called the Multistrada 1200 was exhibited at the EICMA show in Milan in 2009. With the sharp chiseled body, carbon fiber panels and delicate detailing, the visually appealing motorcycle features Marchesini three-spoke wheels and a newly designed LED headlight.

The 2013 Multistrada 1200 is equipped with the latest Bosch ABS 9ME controlled Brembo braking system as an integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP).Featuring throttle by wire, a detuned version of the 1,200 cc liquid-cooled engine from the Ducati 1198 sportbike, this second generation Testastretta 11° DS mill introduces a number of important and highly effective enhancements. The torque is boosted to 12.7kgm (91.8lb-ft) and overall mid-range power delivery has increased with even smoother operation.

The S equipment on the Multistrada 1200 includes electronic 48mm Sachs front forks and rear single shock, both featuring the new Ducati electronically adjustable Skyhook Suspension (DSS) system.Another highlight is the Multistrada 1200 S Touring D|air model that Ducati introduced, which features an integrated, intelligent safety system of bike-mounted sensors wirelessly connected to Ducati Apparel D|air airbag apparel by Dainese.The Ducati Multistrada is a motorcycle for consumers who like touring but want something lighter. It goes up against the new BMW R1200GS and KTM 1190 Adventure in the same niche market as the other multi-purpose and dual-sport motorcycles.
