The Ducati Desert Sled is a more off-road functional version of the Scrambler Urban Enduro. The bike gets 200mm of suspension travel at both front and rear, a revised swingarm, motocross-style handlebar, headlight mesh guard, engine skid plate and high mudguards to help its off-road capability. The Desert Sled also features a seat height of 860mm with an optional 840mm seat as an accessory. At the front, the bike has a 19-inch wheel while the rear sits on a 17-inch wheel, both wrapped in off-road Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. The Desert Sled uses an 803cc L-twin engine which produces 75bhp at 8250rpm and 68Nm of torque at 5750rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Although the engine is the same as the other Scramblers, it is tuned to improve power delivery at lower rpm. The bike uses a 330mm disc at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear, both Brembo units.Although the Desert Sled does not have a direct competitor in the Indian market, motorcycles like the Triumph Bonneville T100 get an optional scrambler kit.
