Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled [2019] (Standard)

The Desert Sled is the off-road focused model in the Scrambler line-up. It gets a revised swingarm and a different suspension setup to help its off-roading capability. The bike gets 200mm of suspension travel at both ends, a motocross-style handlebar, high mudguards, headlight mesh guard and an engine skid plate. Furthermore, the motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels which are wrapped in dual-sport Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres.

For 2019, the Scrambler Desert Sled gets a new, red-painted frame which adds a fresher appeal to the motorcycle. The headlamp now comes equipped with LED DRLs while the fully-digital instrument cluster now shows a fuel gauge and gear position indicator too. Ducati has also updated the switchgear, enhancing the quality and a toggle ignition switch. The seat of the 2019 Desert Sled has also been redesigned in order to be more comfortable and to provide the rider more room to move around.

Being an off-road-inclined model, this variant features a long-travel suspension setup. The front gets USD forks with 200mm of travel while the rear gets a monoshock with the same amount of travel. Both are sourced by Kayaba. Powering the Scrambler range is the same 803cc, L-twin, air-cooled motor as the previous bike. The units power output stands at 73bhp at 8250rpm and 67Nm at 5750rpm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch. The Desert Sled also features a hydraulic clutch lever for easier clutch-pull.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled faces competition from the Triumph Street Scrambler in the country.
