Description

The Scrambler has been the most anticipated bike from Ducati. It has not just helped the company grow by leaps and bounds, but has also helped lot of enthusiasts come close to this Italian company. The Scrambler is an entry-level Ducati which is a perfect blend of old-school motoring and modern technology. Ducati has smartly played with the design and will appeal a wider range of consumers. The upright comfortable seating position complements the nature of the bike.Talking about its mechanicals, the Scrambler Icon is powered by an air-cooled twin-cylinder 696cc engine, which churns out 75bhp at 8250rpm and peak torque of 68Nm at 5759rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. The Scrambler has a seat height of 790mm making it easily accessible for short riders. The Scrambler offers a steel tank with interchangeable aluminium side panels, which is pretty good for someone who wants to experiment with various colours. As a part of standard equipment, the bike gets under-seat storage with a USB socket, LED light-guide and tail light. Braking duties for the bike are taken care of by 330mm disc at the front and 245mm disc at the rear. Antilock-braking system (ABS) is standard. The Ducati Scrambler Icon is sold in India as a completely-built-up (CBU) unit via Thailand. The bike is available at all Ducati showrooms and competes with the Triumph Bonneville.
