Harley-Davidson has updated its motorcycle line-up by launching the Forty-Eight Special in India. It is the blacked-out variant of the standard Sportster Forty-Eight already on sale in the country. The motorcycle gets black treatment on components like the slash-cut exhaust tips with new chrome shields and the engine head covers accompanied by chrome crankcase covers. The other highlight on the Forty-Eight Special are the three unique colour schemes that are reminiscent of the 70s art culture. To go with that design is an ape-handlebar and a redesigned seat.
For cycle parts, the motorcycle comes with telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is done by disc brakes at both ends. Powering the Forty-Eight Special is the same 1202cc, V-twin mill that belts out 96Nm of torque while being mated to a five-speed gearbox.
In the market, the Forty-Eight Special rivals against the Indian Scout Bobber and the Triumph Bonneville Bobber.
