Honda CBR 650R is a sports bike available at a starting price of Rs. 8,88,221 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 2 colours. The Honda CBR 650R is powered by 648.72cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 85.82 bhp and a torque of 57.5 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Honda CBR 650R comes up with anti-locking braking system. This CBR 650R bike weighs 211 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 15.4 liters. The Honda CBR650R has received mechanical upgrades to comply with the new, more stringent emission norms. The BS6 compliant model, which will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Ninja ZX-6R, carries a substantial price premium over its predecessor.
The BS6-compliant 649cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve engine produces 85.8bhp of maximum power at 12,000rpm and a peak torque of 57.5Nm at 8,500rpm.
In terms of design, the motorcycle features a CBR1000RR inspired styling that comprises a twin-pod headlight, a transparent windscreen, a full fairing, split-style saddle, and a compact exhaust cannister. While the styling is similar to the 2020 model, the headlight on the 2021 Honda CBR650R includes a sharp new reflector profile. The latest iteration of the middleweight motorcycle also gets new side panels, steel rear mudguard/number plate mount clip-on handlebars, and rear set foot pegs.
The feature list on the CBR650R BS6 remain similar to the 2020 model, and the middleweight motorcycle continues to pack all-LED lighting, a digital LCD instrument cluster, and an assist and slipper clutch. The safety net on the motorcycle includes dual-channel ABS, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Honda Ignition Security System (HISS), and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) technology.
The 2021 model also benefits from Showa Separate Function-Big Piston (SSF-BP) upside-down front forks. The suspension duties at the rear are performed by a rear mono-shock. The braking setup includes twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will offer the CBR650R BS6 in two colours “ Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
