Honda Dio 125 (SMART 3D EMBLEM)

Honda Dio is a mileage scooter available at a starting price of Rs. 83,400 in India. It is available in 4 variants and 7 colors with top variant prices starting from Rs. 91,300. The Honda Dio is powered by a 123.92cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 8.16 bhp and a torque of 10.4 Nm. With both front and rear drum brakes, the Honda Dio comes up with a combined braking system for both wheels. This Dio scooter weighs 104 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 5.3 liters. Honda has introduced the new Dio in two variants including standard and deluxe and has given it a host of updates to set it apart from the previous version. To start with, the sporty styling of the scooter has become edgier now with a redesigned headlamp, position lamp, and tail lamp along with sharper contours across its bodywork.

It has also been adorned with funkier graphics and a split grab rail at the rear. The new Dio also gets added features such as an ACG silent starter, side stand engine inhibitor, external fuel filler cap, dual function switch integrating seat and fuel lid opener, front pocket and a new DC LED headlamp. Interestingly, it also retains the fully digital instrument cluster with more information such as fuel range, average fuel efficiency, and real-time fuel efficiency.

Now, making it compliant with the new BS6 emissions norms is a reworked 123.92cc engine which now gets Honda’s programmed fuel injection, in place of the previous carbureted setup. Coming to the cycle parts, the 10-inch wheel and trailing-link suspension of the outgoing model have made way for a 12-inch wheel with telescopic forks, similar to the Activa 6G. The rear continues to ride on a 10-inch wheel suspended by a monoshock. Braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends, assisted by a combined braking system. To give it more stability, Honda has also marginally increased the wheelbase of the Dio.

Honda is offering the Dio in four color options including blue, red, orange, and grey. Apart from these basic colors, buyers can also opt for the new Repsol edition which sports bold graphics inspired by Hondas Repsol racing bikes. In terms of competition, it goes up against the TVS Jupiter 110, Hero Pleasure Plus 110, and the Hero Maestro Edge 110.
