The KLX450R is one of the six bikes from Kawasakis off-road competition bike line-up.However, unlike the other bikes, the KLX450R is road-legal thanks to the inclusion of a headlight and LED tail light unit. The enduro bike has been developed to be ridden on trails, deserts and forests. It gets an electric starter, fully-digital instrument cluster that displays speed, odometer, two trip meters and a clock. The bike is powered by a 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine housed in a perimeter frame. Braking duties are done by a 250mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The enduro bike uses a 48mm upside-down fork setup for the front along with a preload adjustable Uni-Trak monoshock at the rear. The bike has a kerb-weight of 126kg, making it one of the lightest in the segment. Kawasaki has equipped the KLX450R with an 8-litre fuel tank. The bike also has a high ground-clearance of 315mm to boost its capabilities off-road. Priced at Rs 8.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the bike is definitely not affordable. However, it does not face any direct competition in the Indian market as no other manufacturer retails their competition bikes here.
