The Kawasaki updated its litre-class sports tourer, the Ninja 1000SX to comply with the newest emission norms. During the transition, Kawasaki also revised the rider and the pillion seats to enhance the overall comfort. This has been achieved by redesigning the rider and the pillion seats. The motorcycle boasts of a large, four-way adjustable windscreen at the front. The company offers an aftermarket windscreen as an accessory that is taller than the stock unit.
Apart from enhancing the comfort levels, Kawasaki has also upgraded the electronics package on the Ninja 1000SX. The litre-class sports tourer now gets a cruise control system, quickshifter, cornering management function, traction control system, and four riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider). The updated instrument cluster includes a Bluetooth-compatible, 4.3-inch full-colour, TFT display. The console works with the smartphone app, Kawasakis Rideology The App.
The other styling updates include a sharper, full-LED headlight and a single-sided exhaust layout that replaces the dual-exhaust on the previous-gen model. The 2021 model is available in three colour options “ emerald blazed green, metallic graphite gray/metallic diablo black, and emerald blazed green/metallic carbon gray/metallic graphite gray.
Mechanical specifications, similar to the outgoing model, include a 1,043cc, inline, four-cylinder engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 140 bhp of maximum power at 10,000rpm and a peak torque output of 111 Nm at 8,000rpm. The hardware includes 41mm inverted front forks, rear mono-shock, twin discs at the front, and a single rotor at the back.
