Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a super bike available at a starting price of Rs. 16,47,000 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 2 colours. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is powered by 998cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 200.21 bhp and a torque of 114.9 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes up with anti-locking braking system. Kawasaki India has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R at an aggressive price tag. The litre-class supersport model rivals the likes of Ducati Panigale V4, BMW S1000RR, Suzuki GSX-R1000R and the Yamaha YZF-R1. The 2021 model features a styling revision along with mechanical upgrades and an improved electronics package for 2021.
Mechanically, the 2021 uses a BS6-compliant 998cc, in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 200bhp (210bhp with RAM Air) of maximum power at 13,200rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 11,400rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission. Kawasaki says that the Ninja ZX-10Rs gear ratios were idealised for circuit riding. Other changes to the motor include a finger follower valve actuation system and a new air-cooled oil cooler based on feedback from Kawasakis World SBK race motorcycle.
The 2021 Ninja ZX-10R also gets a revised design that is sharper than its predecessor. The styling includes a twin-pod headlight, aerodynamic winglets built into the upper cowl for added downforce, a new tail cowl, an updated handlebar and footpeg positions, and the Kawasaki River Mark. The updated ergonomics are claimed to deliver a more aggressive, circuit-focussed riding position. The 2021 Ninja ZX-10R will be offered in two colours “ Lime Green and Flat Ebony Type 2. The Ninja ZX-10R BS6 tips the weighing scale at 207kg (kerb).
The updated features include full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch TFT colour instrumentation with Kawasakis RIDEOLOGY THE APP. The electronic rider aids include electronic cruise control, traction control system, launch control, cornering management function, power modes, riding modes, engine brake control, intelligent ABS, –hlins electronic steering damper, and a bidirectional quick-shifter.
The hardware on the 2021 model comprises an aluminium twin-spar frame, aluminium swingarm, Showa BFF (Balance Free Front Fork), and a horizontal back-link rear suspension with Showa BFRC (Balance Free Rear Cushion) lite. The braking tasks are handled by dual, semi-floating 330mm discs with dual radial-mount, Brembo M50 monobloc, opposed 4-piston callipers at the front, and a 220mm single rotor with a single-bore pin-slide calliper at the back.
