Kawasaki has updated its middleweight roadster to comply with the newest emission norms. During the BS6/Euro-5 transition, Kawasaki also revised the styling of the motorcycle. The changes include an updated headlight setup that now features full-LED lighting and a shaper headlamp cowl.
The Z650 also gets a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster that it shares with the Ninja 650. The 10.9cm colour TFT display that, apart from the standard data, also offers information about gear position indicator, shift lamp, and fuel gauge. It does, however, misses controls for the calls and music.
To enhance the passenger comfort, the Japanese Kawasaki has also updated the Z650s pillion seat. While the styling and feature list has been tweaked, the latest iteration of the motorcycle retains the trellis-type frame, cycle parts, and the underbelly exhaust.
The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The braking tasks are handled by twin discs at the front and a single unit at the rear. The Z650 also benefits from Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres as standard.
Mechanical specifications include a BS6-compliant, 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 67.3bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission.
Kawasaki offers the Z650 in a single colour option in the Indian market, Metallic Spark Black.
