2022 KTM 390 Adventure launched at Rs. 3.35 lakhs ex-showroom

KTM unveiled the 2022 390 Adventure globally last year. Now, they have finally launched the new version of the motorcycle in the Indian market. The 2022 390 Adventure is priced at Rs. 3.35 lakhs ex-showroom. The price of the motorcycle has been increased by Rs. 7,000 but KTM has also made some changes to the motorcycle.

The 390 Adventure now comes with two traction control modes. There is Street and Off-road. The Street is the mode in which the traction control will behave normally. In the Off-road mode, the system will allow a limited amount of slip before kicking in. This will help the riders while off-roading. Moreover, the motorcycle won’t reset to the Street mode in case it falls or stalls. This has been done because while off-roading, it is bound to happen that a person would fall while riding.

The 12-spoke alloy wheels have been replaced with a new set of 5-spoke units. KTM claims that the new alloy wheels are stiffer and should be able to take impacts better despite having fewer spokes. Then there are two new colours, there is Dark Galvano Black and KTM Factory Racing Blue. There are no further changes to the 390 Adventure.

It still gets a 373 cc, single-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled. The engine puts out 43.5 PS of max power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a quick shifter. Braking duties are still done by 320 mm disc in the front and 280 mm disc at the rear respectively KTM also offers a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. Suspension duties are done by WP Up-side down forks in the front and a mono-shock at the rear.

KTM already launched 250 Adventure

KTM launched the 2022 250 Adventure in January this year. It is priced at Rs. 2.35 lakhs ex-showroom. It did not get any major updates when compared to the updates of 390 Adventure. KTM added two new colour schemes. There is KTM Factory Racing Blue and KTM Electronic Orange. It also gets new 10-spoke alloy wheels that are stiffer.

It continues to come with an LCD screen, a halogen headlamp, a multi-information display and a 12V charging socket. When compared to the 390 Adventure, it misses out on a TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, quick-shifter, LED headlamp and a traction control system.

There were no changes to the engine, it still comes with a 248 cc, single-cylinder engine that gets liquid-cooling. It produces 30 PS of max power and 24 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm disc in the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. Suspension duties are done by 43 mm up-side down forks by WP Apex in the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The front has 177 mm of travel while the rear has 170 mm of travel.
