2022 KTM RC 390 Launched, Priced From Rs. 3.14 Lakhs
2022 KTM RC 390 price is Rs. 3,13,922/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi), gets a host of electronics
The upgraded 2022 KTM RC 390 has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 3,13,922/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The race replica gets the new styling from the RC 200 which has been developed grounds up for a generation change.
Power comes from the same 373 cc single cylinder, 4-valve, liquid cooled, DOHC engine.
Kerb weight has been increased to 172 kg, which is a good 13 kg more from the 2014-16 model. But, KTM says, the torque delivery has been improved to compensate the weight gain. It has been done with a new 40 percent bigger airbox and a new engine mapping.
The features on offer include traction control, quick shifter, lean angle sensitive cornering ABS, dual-channel ABS with Super moto mode, TFT multi-color display with KTM My Ride, power assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch (PASCTM), WP Apex USD forks and adjustable mono-shock suspension, Bybre brakes – 320mm and 280 mm discs, and 2-step height adjust handle bar.
KTM says, the new RC’s design has been inspired from KTM’s grand prix models. The colours on offer include KTM Factory Racing Blue and KTM Orange, the ones already seen on the 2022 390 Adventure.
The redesigned body, according to the Austrian maker, gets optimised aerodynamics helping the bike achieve a higher top speed now although not revealed. It has been developed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design process.
This new design features a combination of inner and outer body panels to direct airflow away from the rider. The rear bodywork has been substantially reduced for a more aggressive profile showcasing the redesigned subframe.
The ergonomics has been improved as well. The knee area allows for easier rider movement being narrow. An all-new 2-part cockpit and windscreen holder features a cast aluminum upper area and a lower composite part that secures the headlight.
The race bike continues to get LED headlamps, tail lamps, and indicators. The front indicators are integrated to the fairing.
The new ‘bionic’ wheel design and hollow front axle are weight savers, KTM claims. The split-steel trellis frame has seen some minor tweaks while the new 13.7-litre fuel tank should give extended range when compared to the existing model.
Riders can add the KTM My Ride navigation app to the KTM RC 390 through the display that allows them to access important information with the added flexibility of being able to tailor the display. Moreover, the display automatically adapts its brightness to the ambient light.
KTM has started its Pro-XP programme which has curated content for the brand’s products. The company is also planning to open exclusive multi-city KTM RC track racing property. These multi-city circuits will give KTM owners a platform to race.
