2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Range Launched, Priced From Rs. 19.19 Lakhs
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Price goes up to Rs. 21,69,000/- for the top-end Rally Explorer variant
The 2022 iteration of the Triumph Tiger 1200 range have been launched in India and their price starts at Rs. 19.19 lakhs for the base GT Pro variant while going up to Rs. 21.69 lakhs for the top-spec Rally Explorer trim.
The top-of-the-line popular 1200 cc adventure bikes from Triumph are back again in India after a brief halt. There are 4 variants on offer – Rally Explorer, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and GT Pro.
While the GTs are road biased, the Rallys are off-road centric with knobby tires. The Pro models are lower ones while Explorer variants sit at the top-end of the lineup.
While all the variants get 18-inch wheels at the rear, the Rally models get 21-inch and GT models 19-inch wheels at the front.
Even the front suspension travel is a little bit longer on the Rally line. The Explorer models get a humongous 30-litre fuel tank and the road-biased GT variants get smaller 20-litre units.
The 2022 Tiger 1200 range is a good 25 kg lighter than the preceding models. As far as features are concerned, all the 4 variants get nearly the same features but the Explorer ones get an additional blind spot radar.
Power comes from a new BS-6 compliant 1160 cc inline 3 cylinder engine that churns 147 HP at 9000 RPM and 130 Nm at 7000 RPM. Unlike the smaller Tigers, power is sent to the rear wheels by a dedicated shaft drive which means power delivery is nearly lossless.
A 6-speed transmission with slip and assist clutch aides in seamless up and down shifts.
The adventure bikes get premium components like Showa suspension, Brembo brakes, etc. Some of the features on offer include a 7-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, and traction control.
The Rally models are offered in Snowdonia White, Sapphire Black, and Matt Khaki colour options and the GT models are offered in Snowdonia White, Sapphire Black, and Lucerne Blue colours. All the variants are also offered with a huge list of accessories.
Triumph India is offering 3 years unlimited mileage warranty with the option to extend as well. The service interval is 16,000 km or 1 year whichever is earlier.
The new Tiger 1200 range compete against the likes of the Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R 1250GS.
