Honda has finally launched the ADV 160 in Indonesia after teasing the scooter for the past couple of weeks. The scooter will replace the ADV 150 that existed till now.

The concept of an adventure scooter is pretty cool. Taking something as utilitarian as a scooter and giving it a wild streak sounds exciting to the fans in us. And this is the reason Honda’s ADV line of scooters are so special. Joining the ranks of the PCX160 and Vario 160 in Indonesia is Honda’s new ADV160 maxi-scooter.

Honda ADV 160 isn’t visually distinguishable from the ADV 150 at first look. It continues with the split-headlamps with LED lighting and LED DRLs. Nevertheless, it does get minor modifications to the body panels that are barely angular along with a bigger windscreen and a larger under seat space.

2023 Honda ADV 160cc Scooter

On keen statement, not so much has modified over the outgoing model. It is a good thing as Honda ADV 160 was a sorted product in most features. Even mechanically, Honda seems to have carried over ADV 160 as is including its performance figures. What is changed over MY2022, is new color options and graphics, which appear to be inspired by Honda’s ADV bikes range.

It’s the spiritual successor to ADV 150, which was first unveiled at 2019 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) held in Jakarta. With ADV 160, Honda is playing the premium card and will get a whole lot of goodies to back up its worth. Design holds on to its own too and radiates a premium appeal.

What we’re taking a look at is a maxi-styled scooter with ADV parts like block pattern tyres for maximum grip. The front apron is dominated by twin LED headlight design that considerably resembles that of Africa Twin. There are LED DRLs on top of headlights and above them, now we have LED turn indicators. A tall adjustable windscreen completes the front design of 2023 Honda ADV 160cc Scooter.

Specs & Features

The engine can hook more power than the Honda ADV 150. Now the power of the Honda ADV 160 reaches 11.8 kW at 8,500 rpm. Torque can be abundant up to 14.7 NM at around 6,500 rpm.

There are two ADV 160 models on offer, the Combined Braking System (CBS) version at 36 million rupiah (RM10,624) and the ABS and traction controlled geared up variant at 39.25 million rupiah (RM11,583).

The seat height is now 780 mm, or lower than earlier than (reduced by 15 mm), combined with the ground clearance of the New Honda ADV160 which is quite high, which is 165 mm. This combination gives more comfort for the driver when exploring various street conditions.
