Kawasaki has launched the 2023 Ninja 400 for a price tag of Rs. 4,99,000/- (ex-showroom) which is the same price it had in 2019 prior to discontinuation. The latest Ninja 400 is not only BS-6 compliant but also complies with Euro 5 norms.

The bike will be sold here via the CBU route. With this, the second entry-level performance Kwacker has made a grand return to India after almost 2-and-a-half years.

It’s powered by the updated 399 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC 8-valve engine that exerts 44.8 HP at 10,000 RPM and 37 Nm at 8000 RPM mated to a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch.

The engine sits on a trellis frame with 41 mm telescopic forks upfront and gas-charged adjustable monoshock at the rear. The front wheel gets a 110/70 R17 tyre while the rear wheel features a 150/60 R17 unit.

Braking duties are carried out by petal disc with dual piston caliper – 310 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear with dual-channel ABS.

The bike’s ground clearance is 140 mm while the seat height is same as that of the Ninja 300 at 785 mm making the bike the apt choice for short riders.

Tipping the scales at 168 Kg, the Ninja 400 is lighter than the 2022 KTM RC 390 itself let alone the Ninja 300, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. The only bike that’s lighter than the Ninja is the Honda CB300R.

The fuel tank capacity is rated at 14 litres which is 3 litres lesser than that of the Ninja 300’s 17-litre tank. There are 2 colours on offer – Lime Green KRT Edition and Metallic Carbon Gray.

Lime Green KRT Edition has lime green as base colour with black graphics on the fairing and red highlights. Metallic Carbon Gray, on the other hand, comes with black colour and lime green highlights on fairing, tank, and cowl.
