2023 Suzuki Hayabusa revealed; 3 new colours

The Japanese multinational automaker Suzuki’s motorcycle division has recently updated its iconic superbike Hayabusa for the 2023 model year and has given it a range of three new colour options. These new colours are namely Metallic Matte Black & Glass Sparkle Black, Pearl Brilliant White & Pearl Vigor Blue and lastly Metallic Thunder Gray & Candy Daring Red. Apart from these, mechanically the bike will not witness any new upgrades.

Suzuki has also announced a new “Color Order Plan” in Japan, which allows consumers to choose their preferred accent and alloy wheel colours. With this plan, customers will be able to pick a base colour and then mix and match rim and accent colours (red, black, or blue) to their liking. These bikes will be constructed to order, however, the company has not revealed if this colour customization plan will be accessible in India.

The Suzuki Hayabusa has firmly established itself as the Ultimate Sportbike in the motorcycle world. And the 2023 Suzuki flagship sports bike is powered by a torque-rich 1,340cc in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor that produces 190 PS at 9,700 rpm and 150 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a six-speed gearbox with a standard bi-directional quick shifter.

Suzuki launched the third generation of the Hayabusa in April last year. Some of the features of the superbike include a cruise control system, a hill hold control system, a slope dependent control system, an Active Speed limiter combined brake system and a motion track brake system. It also comes with Suzuki Easy Start System and a Launch Control System.

It also received the company’s proprietary Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) which enables different riding modes. There are three factors driving modes(A: Active, B: Basic, and C: Comfort) and three user driving modes(U1, U2, U3). The driving modes alter the Bi-directional Quick Shift systems, Motion Track Traction Control, Engine Brake Control, Power Mode Selector and, Anti-lift Control.

Suzuki has also updated the instrument cluster. It retains the Hayabusa’s iconic four analogue clusters but now features a bigger TFT screen right in the middle to configure various things for the motorcycle. The wheelbase of the motorcycle stays the same at 1,480 mm. However, the ground clearance and the seat height are slightly lower now at 120 mm and 800 mm. It now comes with LED Daytime Running Lamps with an LED headlamp.

Suzuki launched the Hayabusa on the 26th of April last year and within the first two days, the new superbike was already sold out in India. Suzuki brought 101 units of the new Hayabusa to India. Despite COVID-19, the Hayabusa had shown tremendous demand from the Indian market. This reflected the love of biking enthusiasts of the country for the iconic Hayabusa. The 2021 Hayabusa was introduced at a price of Rs. 16.4 lakhs ex-showroom.
