Royal Enfield reveals pricing for Indian and European markets.

Recently MotoVerse 2023 Goa, Royal Enfield finally disclosed the price of the new Himalayan 450 for the European and Indian markets. For the European market, the Slate Himalayan Salt (below) or Slate Himalayan Poppy Blue hues begins at an introductory price of €5,900 (approx $6,450).

For the the ‘Kaza Brown’ Himalayan Base, Royal Enfield prices it at 5,750 GBP ($7,240) for the UK, representing a rise of just over £1,000 compared to the bike it replaces.

In India, fans can buy the Himalayan 450 at 2,69,000 INR ($3,226), for the Kaza Brown colour option. The Pass variant is priced at Rs 2.74 lakh for both the Slate Himalayan Salt and the Slate Himalayan Poppy Blue paint option. an introductory price until December 31, 2023. Till now, there are no announcements about price or availability for the US market.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Specifications

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 features a 452cc single-cylinder, SOHC setup with a liquid-cooled engine. This engine, known as the Sherpa 450, generates 40 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres.

The engine is coupled with a new 6-speed gearbox that incorporates a slip and assist clutch. The ADV also gets a ride-by-wire throttle system.

The motorcycle’s frame is a steel twin spar unit, suspended by a 43mm inverted cartridge-type front fork and a single rear linkage-type shock.

The lighting system has been upgraded to LED, with an integrated taillight and rear indicators. The motorcycle has a 4-inch circular TFT display that provides mobile phone connectivity and other important information such as bike telemetrics, integrated navigation system via Google Maps and media control.

Rolling on a 21-inch front wheel, and 17-inch rear, the Himalayan 450 has 200 mm of wheel travel at both ends, with the ride height set at 230mm.

In the Himalayan 450, There are two seat options, and both are adjustable. The standard seat option is adjustable between 825 mm and 845 mm, while the low seat option is adjustable between 805 mm and 825 mm.

Dry, the motorcycle weighs in at 181 kg, adding fuel and oil brings that up to 195 kg.

There are many accessories available,  including an adventure screen, headlight grill, touring mirrors, a black rally-style bar pad, silver radiator guard, engine guards; rally-style crash protection, and a top box and pannier option with mounting structures for each.
