3 week-old Kawasaki Ninja 10R worth over Rs. 20 lakh set on fire: FIR registered

Rajesh Chowgle in Kolhapur was ecstatic after getting his hands on his dream bike – a Kawasaki ZX-10R. Happy Rajesh took out a procession in Kolhapur to celebrate the new motorcycle. However, after 17 days of ownership, miscreants set the bike on fire. Rajesh has now registered an FIR against the unknown people.

The bike was delivered to Rajesh on the occasion of Diwali. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is worth Rs 21 lakh, on-road in India. Happy Rajesh took out a procession on the streets with drums to celebrate his new motorcycle. Unknown miscreants set the bike on fire and also set another bike and a new car on fire in the neighbourhood.

Rajesh’s brother-in-law Nikhil Pajai also bought a new car and the delivery happened on Diwali. Nikhil parked the car outside Rajesh’s home. In the early morning, miscreants set the bike and the car on fire. Videos show the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R blazing in the fire.

Rajesh has filed a police complaint at Karveer Police station in Kolhapur. The police have filed the complaint but Rajesh does not suspect anyone till now. He also does not have enmity with anyone. The police say that it can be a case of jealousy and are investing in it. There was no CCTV in the vicinity that could have captured the incident.

This was Western Maharashtra’s first Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R. Even the showroom was decorated for the delivery for the bike.

CCTVs are essentials

Such high-end motorcycles and even cars attract a lot of attention. One should be extra careful. Super bikes do attract a lot of attention. So finding safe parking in a public space can become a task as well. It is quite common for people to pose, click pictures and fiddle with such super bikes and that is why it is a challenge to find a safe parking spot in India.

This is why it is essential to install CCTV cameras around the parking spot. CCTV can gather vital information that can stop such events from happening. Even after such an incident, CCTV s can give out vital clues that can be used to solve the crimes. Such vandalism is not unseen in India. However, this is likely to be the first time that such an incident has happened to someone who has parked the vehicle outside his own house.

Superbikes are like shiny objects that attract a lot of attention. Loud exhaust, bright colours and just big looks get them a lot of attention. It can be difficult to park the bike at a roadside at peace with superbikes. Even stopping at traffic signals can make you feel like a star. But they can attract the wrong kind of attention as we have seen in this case.
