Ather CEO confirms new family electric scooter launch in 2024
Ather Energy is working on a new family electric scooter. A test unit of possibly the same was recently spied on the streets of Bengaluru. This new unnamed scooter will be making its debut next year. This has been confirmed by company CEO and Co-Founder, Tarun Mehta, on his social media profile.

Mr. Mehta expressed his excitement about the new launches in an X (formerly Twitter) post and said, “After spending a decade perfecting the Ather 450, we now believe that there’s demand for something more. So many folks love Ather Energy as a brand but want a bigger, family-oriented scooter from us. That’s why we’re gearing up to launch a family scooter in 2024.”

The family scooter will most likely come with the same 2.9kWh battery pack and LCD console along with similar hardware elements that we have seen on the 450S. Ather is likely to first launch a LR (Low Range) variant first, followed by a launch of the HR (High Range) variant next.
The scooter is expected to be launched by mid-2024 and the pricing could be similar to that of the 450S, around 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidies). It will compete directly with the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and the Bajaj Chetak.
