BSA Unveils the Gold Star Modern Classic Motorcycle in the UK
The official unveiling of the Gold Star, the inaugural model from the revived BSA Motorcycles, occurred today in the United Kingdom.

Presented at the Motorcycle Live event in the UK, this modern classic motorcycle is designed to embody the spirit of its predecessors, as stated by its manufacturer.
The motorcycle features a round halogen headlamp (60/55 W), a 12-litre fuel tank, an engine cover reminiscent of historical BSAs, a flat seat, and rear LED lights that reinterpret the classic Lucas lamps.
Additionally, it is equipped with traditional front and rear fenders, along with distinctive twin-pod instruments that include LCD multifunctional displays. The needle gauges maintain the reverse sweep function characteristic of the original Smiths clocks.The bike boasts a wheelbase of 1425 mm and a seat height of 780 mm. It will be available in several color options, including Dawn Silver, Highland Green, Insignia Red, and Midnight Black.
A Legacy Edition will also be offered, featuring a Silver Sheen color scheme, chrome-finished levers, mirrors, and fenders, as well as polished engine covers and a gloss black finish on the instruments, headlight cover, and foot pegs.

Powering the motorcycle is a 652cc single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum output of 45 BHP at 6000 RPM and 55 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM.
This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox that includes an assist and slipper clutch, providing sufficient power to propel the 213 kg (wet) middleweight motorcycle over long distances with ease.Constructed on a newly designed dual-cradle chassis, the BSA Gold Star is equipped with 41 mm telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear, featuring 5-step preload adjustment.

Riding on wire-spoke alloy wheels—18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear—the motorcycle is fitted with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres (100/90-section front and 150/70-section rear) that showcase a vintage tread pattern.
Braking is managed by a 320 mm front disc with a 2-piston Brembo caliper and a 255 mm rear disc with a single-piston Brembo caliper.
The Gold Star, manufactured in India, should be introduced to the UK market to effectively compete with the highly favored Royal Enfield 650 twins.
