Ducati Panigale V2 Special Edition pays homage to Troy Bayliss
Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary, yes that’s the name of this special edition motorcycle. The Italian bike maker has launched this motorcycle in India with a price tag of Rs. 21.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The bike is available in limited numbers across all the dealerships in India. It comes in Ducati 996 R inspired livery, the bike on which Troy Bayliss won his first world championship (2001 Superbike World Championship).
Ducati paid homage to the career of the Australian rider by dedicating a special motorcycle to him. Troy Bayliss is the only motorcycle racer in the history of the sport who won a MotoGP and World Superbike race in the same season (2006).
The bike is painted in the signature Ducati red colour with green and white Italian livery. Notice the big 21 numbering, that’s Troy Bayliss’ race number. On the fuel tank you get Troy’s autograph.
The bike is powered by a 955cc Superquadro twin-cylinder engine producing 155 HP at 10,750 RPM and 104 Nm torque at 9000 RPM. It comes with three riding modes – Race, Sport and Street.
The special edition comes equipped with Ohlins components including the NX30 front fork and TTX36 rear shock absorber to improve the track performance. Compared to the standard version, this special edition is 3 kg lighter.
