Ducati Streetfighter V2 Launched, Priced From Rs. 17.25 Lakhs

Ducati Streetfighter V2 price is cheaper than the recently launched Streetfighter V4 SP by Rs. 17.74 lakhs, nearly half the price

Ducati has launched Streetfighter V2 for a price tag of Rs. 17.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). The sport naked shares its engine with its superbike brother, Panigale V2. Interestingly, the bike is nearly just half the price of the recently launched Streetfighter V4 SP.

The launch has paved way for many Ducati Streetfighter fans with a budget over Rs. 20 lakhs to get their hands on their favourite machine as both the V4 and V4 SP are priced quite on the higher side.

Power comes from the 955 cc Superquadro 2-cylinder engine that churns out 153 HP at 10,750 RPM and 101.4 Nm at 9000 RPM, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. There’s also a quickshifter on offer.

The front and rear weight distribution is 52 and 48 percent respectively

The engine sits on a die-cast aluminium monocoque frame that has the signature Ducati single-sided swingarm. Thanks to the lack of fairing, the dry weight of the bike is down to just 178 kg, in the league of much smaller bikes.

Ducati claimed that the chassis geometry has been refreshed on the Streetfighter V2 for optimum weight distribution. Now the front and rear weight distribution is 52 and 48 percent respectively, highly different from Panigale V2.

Some premium stuff on the bike include 43 mm Showa BPF front fork that’s fully-adjustable in compression, rebound damping, and spring preload, Sachs steering damper, progressive linkage fully-adjustable Sachs rear shock, and 5-spoke wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires – 120/70-17 at the front and 180/60-17 at the rear.

Braking duties are by twin 320 mm discs with monobloc calipers at the front and a 245 mm single disc setup at the rear. The company claimed that the brake pads have lesser bite than what’s seen on the Panigale V2, to suit road use.

The electronics include ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.

There are 3 riding modes on offer – Sport, Road, and Wet. The modes are again different from the Panigale to suit road use. The Wet mode has limited power and quite suitable for city riding and during showers.
