Expected Price Of TVS’ Flagship EV iQube ST Revealed
The on-road price of TVS iQube ST is expected to be Rs. 20,000/- more than that of the mid-level S variant
The expected on-road price of TVS Motors’s flagship EV, iQube ST, has been revealed ahead of the company’s official announcement, and it does look promising.
TVS recently launched the 2023 version of its iQube electric scooter with updates and 2 new variants – S and ST. While the S is the mid-level trim, the ST is the electric scooter’s top-end model with all the bell and whistles including higher range and better top speed.
While TVS revealed the on-road prices of both the standard and S models, it remained tight-lipped about the ST’s price. The company opened pre-bookings for the top-end model across 85 cities for a token amount of Rs. 999/-.
Sources now have informed that the ST might command a premium of Rs. 20,000/- over the mid-level S variant which means it might get an on-road price tag of Rs. 1.28 lakhs including FAME II and state subsidies.
If the TVS iQube ST, indeed, gets the same expected price tag, it will be cheaper than Bajaj Chetak Premium by over Rs. 30,000/-. It will also be cheaper than Ola S1 Pro by Rs. 22,000/-, and Ather 450X Standard by Rs. 31,000/-.
Sources further said that the official price announcement of the TVS’ flagship EV will take place in July while deliveries will commence from August. As the the iQube has spawned into 3 different variants, the scooter gets trim-specific colours.
The upcoming top-end ST exclusively comes in Starlight Blue, Coral Sand, Copper Bronze Matte, and Titanium Grey Matte shades. TVS will offer 3 different portable chargers to choose from – 650 Watts, 950 Watts, and 1.5 kW.
The ST gets a 7-inch TFT colour display unit and an improved storage space up to 32 litres which can accommodate 2 helmets like the Ola S1 Pro.
While the standard and S model get an updated real world range of 100 km, the ST model’s real-world range is up to 140 km, claims TVS. Also, the ST commands an improved top speed of 82 km/hr from the regular 78 km/hr top speed of the lower models.
As far as new features are concerned, the TVS SmartXonnect has been improved with new Alexa skillsets, improved navigation, telematics, anti-theft, and geofencing features.
There’s also a 5-way joystick that can help in interaction, music control, proactive notifications including vehicle health, 4G telematics, and OTA updates.
Interestingly, the scooter has got an incognito mode and, on activation, all the user tracking activities are immediately stopped by the onboard computer. Owners can also set their favorite pictures as wallpapers on the screen.
