Hero’s Upcoming 300-450 cc Adventure & Sport Bikes Spied For The First Time
The upcoming Hero adventure and sport bikes have been spied heavily camouflaged for the first time
Out of nowhere, the upcoming adventure and sport bikes from Hero MotoCorp have been spied testing for the first time. The test mules are heavily camouflaged but, still, we could somehow make out a lot from the spy shots.
Ever since Hero split itself from Honda, the Splendor maker has been silently working on a lot of secret projects. Though nothing has come out fruitful till this moment except the sedate 200 cc platform, it seems, the company has seen a way out to go higher up the ladder.
A couple of years ago, we got a glimpse of the chassis and engine of Hero’s upcoming ‘bigger’ bikes and, now, the parts in these test mules look nearly the same. First up, the spied adventure and sport bikes could get the same engine and chassis.
While the exact displacement of the engine is not known at the moment, it could be somewhere between 300 and 450 cc with all the bell and whistles like liquid cooling, DOHC, 4 valve, etc.
The chassis could be a proper trellis unit. The ones pictured here get red colour finish. While the adventure bike gets USD forks upfront, the sport bike gets regular telescopic units.
However, both the bikes get monoshock mounted on box-section swing arm at the rear. While the adventure bike features spoke wheels with dual purpose tyres, the sport bike gets regular tyres on slanted twin-spoke alloy wheels.
Coming to the adventure bike’s design, it gets a typical adventure tourer look with a front beak. The front is raised ending in the tall windshield. The handlebar is tilted towards the rider for comfortable ergonomics. The RVMs are mounted on the handlebar.
The seat is a split unit without a step up design. The bike has chunky panels all around and should look huge in flesh. The rear is highly raised up with a long mud flap. The headlight is a proper LED unit and looks bright even during sunshine.
Coming to the design of the sport bike, the overall silhouette looks like the Suzuki Gixxer SF. The short wind screen and close clip-ons are reminiscent of the Suzuki. The RVMs are mounted on the fairing for a sporty look.
The front headlights get sharp elements and we can’t wait to seen them undisguised. Both the motorcycles might be unveiled sometime later this year with launch happening next year. When launched, both are sure to heat up the segment.
