Honda Activa E: A New Chapter in India’s Electric Two-Wheeler Market

Launch Details and Initial Availability in Key Cities

Honda has formally made its entry into the Indian electric two-wheeler sector with the introduction of the Activa E. This highly anticipated e-scooter will be available in two versions: Standard and Sync Duo. The announcement regarding pricing and the start of bookings is set for 1 January 2025, with deliveries expected to commence in February 2025. Initially, the Activa E will be launched in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with plans for a gradual expansion to additional cities thereafter.

Impressive Performance and Battery Technology

The Activa E is fitted with two swappable batteries, each with a capacity of 1.5kWh, collectively referred to as the Honda Mobile Power Pack E. These batteries are said to offer a range of 102km when fully charged and are supported by Honda’s existing battery-swapping stations located in Bengaluru and Delhi, with plans for Mumbai to be added to the network shortly.

The e-scooter is driven by a 6kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces a peak torque of 22Nm. Riders have the option to select from three riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport, achieving a maximum speed of 80km/h in Sport mode. Honda asserts that the Activa E can accelerate from 0 to 60km/h in a mere 7.3 seconds.

The Honda Activa E is crafted to captivate with its impressive range of advanced features, which include a 7-inch TFT display that supports Honda RoadSync Duo smartphone connectivity. This display provides navigation assistance and features both day and night modes, all of which can be controlled through toggle switches located on the handlebar.
The Activa E also incorporates Honda’s H-Smart key features, which include:

  • Smart Safe: Enhances security measures.
