Honda Activa Electric Launch By March 2024

Honda Activa electric scooter launching in March 2024! Plus new EV scooter coming later

The Honda Activa electric is ready to make waves in the Indian market and contribute to the government’s push towards electric mobility. Get ready for a cleaner, greener, and more efficient mode of transportation with the Honda Activa electric, launching in March 2024.

They’re developing the new e-scooter domestically with the help of their team in Japan. It will be based mostly on the high selling Activa scooter. The internal combustion engine will be replaced by the electric powertrain. Of course there will be some tweaks to the mechanicals to accommodate the electric powertrain.

This Activa based scooter will also get a fixed battery pack, quite opposite of the swappable battery pattern in EVs. The claimed high speed of this e-scooter is claimed to be 50kmph.

After this, Honda is planning to introduce an all-new electric scooter. This shall be based on a brand new platform dedicated for the electric powertrain.

It will compete with the new high efficiency electric scooters available in the market. It will get new tech including swappable battery. The Japanese bike maker will set up 6000 battery swapping touchpoints throughout the country to create the new ecosystem for their electric two-wheeler.

The company will be investing heavily to localise the electric motor and the battery. Together with this, they’ll make changes to their manufacturing plant to provide both ICE and electric bikes and scooter under one roof.

Honda believes customers with limited running will go for electric Activa however those who travel longer distances will still desire the ICE model of the Activa.

Now a day, Ola, Ather, and Okinawa dominate the electric scooter market in India. Ola recently launched the Ola S1 Air as its least expensive EV to rival the Honda Activa, whereas Ather launched the 450X Gen 3 with several updates.
