The recently launched big scooters of Keeway get a price tag of Rs. 2.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), booking amount is Rs. 10,000/-

Hungarian manufacturer, Keeway, has announced the price of the 2 scooters, Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i, it launched during its maiden India entry a few days back. Both the scooters get an introductory price tag of Rs. 2.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs. 10,000/- and the deliveries are set to begin in June. Customers can book the scooters from http://keeway-india.com or call-7328903004.

With such a price tag, the scooters now sit along with the Honda CB 300R, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

The Vieste 300 is a proper maxi scooter with a long body, step-up seat, large engine, fat tires, a free standing handle bar, and a dedicated windshield. The body has many cuts and creases throughout for a busy design language that’s also quite appealing.

The scooter gets LED projector headlights, DRLs, tail lights, and indicators. It also features a keyless fob and what Keeway calls a ‘continental drive system’.

The maxi scooter is available in 3 colours – Matte Blue, Matte Black, and Matte White.

Though it’s a proper maxi scooter powered by a nearly 300 cc engine, it tips the scale at just 147 kg (dry) while the seat height is also 770 mm only. So, it’s not only easy to handle for women but also comfortable for short riders. The instrument cluster is an all-digital unit.

The front wheel gets 240 mm disc while stopping at the rear is by a 220 mm disc. Dual channel ABS comes standard on the scooter. As far as tires are concerned, the front gets 110/70-R13 tyre and the rear gets 130/70-R13 unit.

The scooter’s fuel tank capacity is 12 litres. The wheelbase is quite long at 1390 mm, and the ground clearance is low at 135 mm.

The Viestie is likely to provide good road presence with its huge dimensions

The Sixties 300i’s design, on the other hand, has been inspired from the Lambretta retro scooters. Though it looks old school, it gets LED lighting throughout like the high-end Vespa models in India.

The reddish black grille at the front gives it a fresh appeal. On the cockpit, there’s an analogue instrument cluster with a digital readout.

Unlike the Vieste 300, the Sixties 300i gets smaller 12-inch wheels while rest of the underpinnings are almost the same. Interestingly, both the 300 cc scooters have their fuel filler cap mounted on the floorboard rather than at the back. This enables easy fuel fill-ups.

The scooters are powered by a 278.2 cc single cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine that puts out 18.7 HP at 6500 RPM and 22 Nm at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox.
