KTM’s Next-Generation 390 Adventure Upcoming Variants and Launch Details
KTM has been conducting tests on the upcoming 390 Adventure in both India and Europe for over a year. To date, two versions of the motorcycle—adventure and enduro—have been observed in testing. However, sources indicate that KTM is preparing to launch as many as four variants of the next-generation 390 Adventure specifically for the Indian market.

What are these four variants? In addition to the standard adventure and enduro models, KTM is set to introduce a touring variant and an entry-level ‘X’ version of the new 390 Adventure. It is anticipated that KTM may not release all four variants of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure simultaneously. Current information suggests that the adventure and touring versions will be launched first.
While not yet confirmed, there is a possibility that the 390 Adventure X variant could be introduced at the initial launch, especially considering that the base variant of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is priced at Rs. 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The introduction of the X variant could allow KTM to position the motorcycle competitively against the Himalayan 450. The launch of the KTM 390 Adventure Enduro variant is expected to occur later in 2025.

A pertinent question arises regarding the distinctions among these variants. The new 390 Adventure X is expected to feature a more basic suspension system and may lack certain electronic rider aids. Conversely, the touring variant will likely come equipped with a 19/17-inch alloy wheel configuration and potentially non-adjustable suspension.
The adventure and enduro variants, designed for off-road performance, will utilize 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and will be equipped with adjustable suspension at both ends. The 390 Adventure Enduro will be characterized by a bikini fairing and a flatter seat, setting it apart from the other models.

All variants of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure will be powered by the same 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found in the 390 Duke. This engine generates 45.37bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. KTM may adjust the final drive ratio and tune the engine to better suit the adventure motorcycle’s intended use.
KTM intends to unveil the next-generation 390 Adventure at EICMA.
