TVS Raider 125 gets, shockingly, added to the least-selling 2-wheelers in May, 2022, Bajaj’s 250s struggle
While the least-selling 2-wheelers in May, 2022, remained almost the same as the previous month, TVS’ latest 125 cc motorcycle, the Raider 125, has made a shocking entry into this list. The KTMs and Husqvarna continue to post lackluster performance.
The Husqvarna twins took the number 1 spot as they couldn’t find a single buyer in May. They are facing prolonged low sales which might force Bajaj to pull the plug sometime in the future. Okinawa Lite, KTM 125 twins, Honda CB300R, and Okinawa Dual took the next 4 places.
They couldn’t find even 15-20 odd buyers. Duke and RC 125 have almost lost their heyday sales and, now, offer no performance value for their prices. Though CB300R offers strong acceleration in a light package, the price simply doesn’t match the overall performance.
It’s a worrying sign for Bajaj as the latest kids-on-the-block, Pulsar F and N250 continue to post dismissal performance taking the fifth place. It seems like the customers want the the old 220 back with the same design. Honda’s strategy for the Unicorn might help Bajaj.
The Pulsars were followed by Okinawa Okhi-90 that sold a tad under 100 units. It took the sixth place. The next 2 spots were taken by Suzuki Gixxer 250 twins and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The Gixxers’ sales have seen a downfall owing to the advent of the V-Strom SX.
At number 9, Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has greatly improved upon its previous month’s dismissal performance selling over 300 odd units now. Shockingly, the much-praised TVS Raider 125 has got itself featured in this list at the 10th spot.
It couldn’t replicate even the sales performance of the Apache RR 310 which has taken the next place. Aprilia SR & SXR 160 series, Bajaj Dominar 250, Honda Grazia, and Okinawa R-30 took the last 4 places in order.
The Aprilia scooters have entered the list for the first time as they usually record good numbers. Honda Grazia’s entry too comes as a surprise as it easily sells over 1000 units.
