Race-Ready 2022 TVS Apache RR310 Unveiled
TVS has unveiled a new race-spec Apache RR310 that offers 46 HP of power. This bike marks the company’s entry into the international racing arena.
The TVS Apache RR310 is a great sports bike. It was launched by the company (in collaboration with BMW Motorrad) on December 6, 2017, and came with a 312.2 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, SI, liquid-cooled, DOHC reverse inclined engine. Now, the company has launched a new race-spec version of the popular bike. Previously, it launched the race-spec TVS Apache GP 165R. The Asia One-Make-Spec TVS Apache RR310 looks like the next chapter for TVS in the international racing arena. Let’s take a closer look!
The new motorcycle is based on the stock Apache RR310. It is powered by a 312 cc DOHC 4-value liquid-cum-oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that offers a maximum power of 46HP. The company has added titanium valves and forged pistons to the engine. The cooling system has also been updated. The electronics by ARacer ECU offer closed-loop control, quick shifter, launch control, and traction control. Additionally, a ram air intake system allows air inside at the highest pressure for better volumetric efficiency.
The new race-spec TVS Apache RR310 features a ‘Low CDA’ design that offers better handling on the track. It features carbon fibre body panels, wheels, and a tail section. The triple clamp and footpegs are made of high-grade aluminium. The lightweight bike weighs just 118 kg. Additional highlights include Dunlop soft-compound radial racing tyres, a dedicated steering damper, a twin exhaust system, and more. The pro-stock version of Apache RR310 has already set a lap time of 1:50.432 on the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT). We can expect better results with the 2022 Race spec TVS Apache RR310.
TVS has also announced a new one-make championship. The TVS Asia One Make Championship will start on April 27 at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit with 4 races. A total of 16 riders from across Asia will participate in the first round. The new race will allow TVS to showcase the capacities, qualities and reliabilities of its machines in the racing field. The data obtained from the races will also be used to develop enhanced features. The One-Make Championship is essentially another good step in the development of future motorsport stars and sports bikes.
