Royal Enfield Buys Chunk of Electric Bike Maker Stark Varg
Royal Enfield has acquired a 10 percent share in Spanish off-road electric motorcycle maker Stark Varg.
The move is highly believed to be a vehicle to help speed along Royal Enfield’s development of its own electric bike and will see the two partner for ‘collaborative research and development’ of road-going electric bikes.
Stark Future is a Spanish electric motorcycle maker first appeared on the scene on the end of 2021. The company launched an electric motocross bike called the Stark Varg. It packs a 6 kWh battery that powers an electric motor that develops either 59 BHP or 79 BHP, depending on the variant.

Royal Enfield, like each bike manufacturer, has one eye on the way forward for private mobilisation. And like just about all motorcycle makers, electric energy options closely on this plan.
The funding in Stark ought to give Enfield a major leg up by way of understanding battery and controller technology, knowledge it might probably now pour into its own electric prototypes.
Speaking about the move, Royal Enfield boss, Siddhartha Lal stated:
“Leisure bikes don’t easily lend themselves to EV technology at this stage, because of challenges just like the battery range, packaging, weight, and cost…Stark Future has been able to understand and harness the potential of EV technology by dramatically outperforming ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) offerings, with out compromising on range, weight, and cost.”
