Royal Enfield Himalayan 822 Exhaust Note VIDEO

At the India Bike Week 2022, bike custom modification house Autoengina developed a different version called the Royal Enfield Himalayan 822. They have combined the two 411-cc engines that you find in the regular Himalayan 450. Bike lover would know that the Himalayan is arguably the most famous bike people use for off-roading. Its construction and features lend great off-roading capabilities. However, Royal Enfield is busy making a new Himalayan 450 that will replace the current-gen version.

Autoengina has worked in detail on this special edition Himalayan. They have not just slapped the two engines together, but have made the necessary alterations to the chassis and subframe. They have developed a special casing to hold the two 411-cc engines in place, have widened the frame to accommodate the engine and installed an additional cooling unit to keep the temperature in check. The design has been made to look quite retro with round headlamps with LED DRLs. Also, the exhaust and seat have been modified to accommodate the engine.

Note that this bike is a BS3 unit which is why 2 carburettors are also seen. The chassis has been made more solid to accommodate the increase in weight. This bike weighs around 250 kg. The bike has been raised by around 37 mm to accommodate the engine. It gives an upright riding posture to the rider. The suspension is also modified in addition to the forks. The brakes are enhanced as well to control the bike and its weight although it doesn’t get ABS.

The body kit has been designed by Autologue. They keep coming up with various body kits for other RE models as well. In this version, there is a sleek and angular side section around the fuel tank and side body panels with body graphics oozing a cool appearance. The wind visor is quite tall and it makes the bike look sporty. This won’t be road-legal and Autoengina is planning to make 10-15 units of this. The price is a whopping Rs 10 lakh.
