Royal Enfield Launches the Scram 440: A More Capable Successor to the Scram 411

Royal Enfield has officially introduced the highly anticipated Scram 440, with the Trail variant priced at ₹2.08 lakh. The premium Force variant is available for ₹2.15 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom), resulting in the entry-level model being just ₹1,300 more costly than its predecessor, the Scram 411.

Two Variants to Choose From

The Scram 440 comes in two distinct trims:

  • Trail Variant: Features 19/17-inch spoke wheels with tube-type tyres, ideal for off-road enthusiasts.
  • Force Variant: Gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres for added convenience and urban reliability.

Both trims are equipped with telescopic forks up front, a monoshock at the rear, and single disc brakes at both ends for balanced handling and braking performance.

Performance: Bigger Engine and Better Touring

The Scram 440 is powered by a new 443cc air/oil-cooled engine, delivering:

  • 25.4bhp at 6,250rpm.
  • 34Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, making it better suited for long-distance touring compared to the Scram 411’s five-speed unit.

 

Styling and Features: Rugged Yet Modern

While the Scram 440 retains its predecessor’s rugged silhouette, it brings several fresh updates:

  • Design: A round LED headlight with a small cowl, a large fuel tank, and a slim tail section.
  • Colours: Five new shades – Force Teal, Force Grey, Force Blue, Trail Green, and Trail Blue.
  • Features: Switchable dual-channel ABS, a revised front brake for improved stopping power, and LED lighting.
