Simple One City-wise Test Ride Schedule Released, Deliveries From September
Simple One test rides will start from 20th July and end on 15th September, deliveries will begin from September
After a long wait, Simple Energy will begin test rides of its upcoming One electric scooter from 20th July while deliveries are said to commence from September. The EV startup will cover 12 cities in the first phase in its maiden entry.
The test rides will take place for 2 days in each city and there would be a gap of 3 days between cities. The ones covered are Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai & Pune, Panaji, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, New Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, and Bhubaneswar.
Bookings are currently open for the scooter for a refundable token amount of Rs. 1947/- and customers can place their orders at Simple Energy’s official website. Deliveries will be based on first-come-first-served basis.
There are 2 variants on offer for the upcoming One electric scooter – standard and long range. While both the variants get a fixed 3.2 kWh battery pack and a removable 1.6 kWh unit, the long range version additionally gets 1 more 1.6 kWh battery pack taking the total capacity to a humongous 6.4 kWh.
While the long range version claims an IDC range of 300 km per charge, the standard 1 claims a slightly lower range of 236 km.
However, the company claims that the real world range of the standard variant itself would be over 200 km which should pretty much satisfy an average user. The scooter’s price starts at Rs. 1.10 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the standard variant.
The One weighs 110 kg and is powered by a lone motor that exerts 9.34 HP and 72 Nm. It can propel the EV to a top speed of 105 km/hr. There are 4 ride modes on offer – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic.
It takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to charge the fixed battery pack, and 1 hour and 15 minutes to charge each portable pack. Featuring a sharp design language, the Simple One has a 7-inch touchscreen dash supporting smartphone connectivity and navigation.
It’s available in 4 colours – Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White and Namma Red.
