In January 2022, 200-500cc bike sales dropped by 20 percent year-on-year
Royal Enfield’s bikes blocked the top 3 spots in the 200-500cc bike sales chart for January 2022 and it was the Classic 350 that led the segment once again.
The 350cc motorcycle found 26,775 new homes last month, while the Bullet 350 followed with 12,656 unit sales. The Meteor 350 was third with 8460 units.
Then came the Bajaj models. The Pulsar 220F and the 250 twins registered combined sales of 6012 units, while the Pulsar 180 and NS200 duo found 5407 new takers this past month.
Royal Enfield’s Himalayan occupied the sixth spot in the January 2022 200-500cc bike sales chart with 3248 units to its name. Honda’s CB350 range followed close with 3212 unit sales.
Hero’s Xpulse 200 has found good traction of late and in January, 1 unit each of the the small adventure bike was ridden home by just over 3100 individuals. In January, KTM sold 2398 units of its Duke 200, while Classic Legends’ Jawa and Yezdi lineups could only manage 2346 units in all.
In all, the motorcycles in the chart registered combined sales of 73,646 units in January 2022 as opposed to 91,625 units during the same period last year, which is a 20 percent reduction in sales.
