The 200-500cc bike sales in March 2022 has turned out be a mixed bag, Xpulse shines

Unlike the 150cc bikes which have faced severe slowdown, the 200-500cc bike sales in March 2022 has turned out to be satisfactory with many brands registering growth. In fact, a couple of tourers have nearly doubled their sales. Let’s take a look.

As is the norm, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 topped the chart by a comfortable margin registering a healthy 32k sales although it’s nothing close to the numbers it attained during its hey days. As far as Y-o-Y growth is concerned, the Classic has sold 1000 units more this time.

Following the Classic 350 is the even more classic Bullet 350 that registered over 12k sales. Though it has fared poorly when compared to last year, it still commands a major share in the segment without any major updates all these years.

The new Yezdi have helped Classic Legends register an excellent 65% YoY growth

The third place was taken together by Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and RS200 which have, surprisingly, overtaken the brand’s latest 250 twins. In fact, they have achieved this feat when on the verse of discontinuation.

So, with record sales this time, Bajaj might drop its plans of discontinuing them. It is to be noted that both the Pulsar 220 and 180 have already been discontinued.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Himalayan/Scram twins took the next 2 spots with the Scram’s initial hype contributing to the increased sales. The star of the show, however, is the Hero Xpulse 200 series which have nearly doubled their sales registering 84% Y-o-Y growth.

Like Hero, Classic Legends too has witnessed tremendous growth this time in the segment with the advent of the new Yezdis. The brand has nearly doubled its sales registering an impressive 65% Y-o-Y growth.

The last 3 spots were taken by the Honda 350 range, Bajaj’s 250 twins, and the KTM Duke 200. All of them registered double-digit de-growth.
