Tork Kratos electric motorcycle production begins
One of the most highly anticipated electric motorbikes in India – The Tork Kratos from the Pune-based Tork Motors has finally hit the assembly line. The EV bikemaker in its recent tweet announced the commencement of the production for the brand’s first electric bike and shared a picture of the entire Tork Motors team with a few of the manufactured bikes. The Tork Kratos which was previously codenamed the T6X was unveiled to the public in 2016 and ever since that it has been undergoing extensive research and development.
The company in the tweet said, “A promise is a promise. Tork Motors is proud to announce the roll out of the first Kratos R from our own assembly line, which will churn out 500 bikes per month! PS: Our own micro manufacturing unit will be up soon Stay tuned for more #electricvehicles#thenewrace#KratosR”
In addition, Kapil Shelke, Founder & CEO Tork Motors said, “It’s time for #Thenewrace. We are gearing up to deliver the first set of Bikes to our customers. Today marks a very important day in the journey of Tork Motors. The Kratos R has won the hearts of the customers and I am overwhelmed with the Love, Faith and patience our customers have shown in us. Our current focus is Pune city and the first set of motorcycles will be delivered in April 2022. We will soon start calling our customers and sharing further information. This day will also act as a land mark as today India’s first Electric Motorcycle gets Unleashed on the streets of Pune.”

The Kratos is India’s first indigenously designed and engineered motorbike which boasts an edgy and angular futuristic look. The bike also gets a new and rebuilt trellis frame, telescopic front fork, rear monoshock, and disc brakes on both ends.
Additionally, the bike will also come with Tork Intuitive Response Operating System (TIROS), the company’s unique operating system that will analyse and collect data for each ride and handle critical components such as real-time power consumption, power management, and range predictions. Furthermore, features such as a 4.3′′ TFT screen, app and cloud connection, geo-fencing, navigation, and anti-theft will be carried over from the T6X. The EV motorbike will be offered by Tork in variants – the first will be the base Kratos and the other will be the Kratos R
The Kratos will be powered by a 4 kWh Li-Ion battery pack. It will power the Axial flux motor, which has a maximum power output of 9 kW and a peak torque output of 38 Nm. A single-speed gearbox will be attached to the motor. There will be three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sports. There will also be a specific reverse function to help the riders in removing the motorcycle from parking.
The Kratos R will have a peak speed of 105 kmph and an IDC stated riding range of 180 km. The bike will take up to 4-5 hours to completely charge the battery although, a fast charger, will be able to charge the motorcycle up to 80 percent in an hour.
Tork Motors will offer the Kratos R in four colour options. There will be white, black, red and blue. The ex-showroom price of Kratos is Rs. 1.92 lakhs whereas the Kratos R costs Rs. 2.07 lakhs ex-showroom.
