TVS Ronin Launched, Priced From Rs. 1.49 Lakhs
TVS Ronin gets a starting price tag of Rs. 1.49 lakhs (ex-showroom), becomes the first retro scrambler from TVS
After a series of teasers, TVS has launched the much-awaited Ronin scrambler for a price tag starting from Rs. 1.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). There are a total of 3 trims and 4 variants on offer with price going up to Rs. 1.71 lakhs (ex-showroom).
However, the scrambler will be available only at select dealerships across the country at least initially.
TVS calls the new Ronin as a bike that’s unslottable in any genre. It features a retro design that’s a mix between a cruiser and a scrambler. The bike gets a round LED headlight with a T-shaped DRL.
The large tear drop-shaped tank looks inspired from a cruiser. The tank ends in the scrambler-style ribbed seat and a metal grab rail. The front gets golden-coloured USD forks with a single disc brake for the front 110 section 17-inch 9-spoke alloy wheel.
The asymmetric single pod digital instrument cluster has been installed high up floating in the air.
It gets TVS’ Smart Xonnect Bluetooth connected technology with side stand warning, turn signal alert, phone battery alert, low fuel alert, find the range, navigation to point of interest, voice based intensity adjustment, etc. There are a total of 28 features on offer.
The handlebar controls include cancel notification, call accept and reject, voice assistant, and ride mode change. The bike gets 2 riding modes – Urban and Rain for ABS.
A broad plastic-like belly pan sits underneath. The chassis is a proper synchro-stiff double cradle unit. The subframe has been exposed and it sits between the seat and the small rear mud guard.
The rear sports a mono shock absorber with regular box-section swing arm and a single disc brake setup. The indicators and tail light are LED units.
Power comes an all-new 225.9 cc single cylinder oil-cooled square (66 x 66 mm) engine that produces 20.13 HP at 7750 RPM and 19.93 Nm at 3750 RPM. The engine features an integrated starter generator (ISG) for the first time.
The claimed top-speed is 120 km/hr and the compression ratio is 10.14:1.
The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox via an Assist and Slipper clutch. TVS claims the Ronin has the fastest gradeability in the third gear with maximum focus given for low-end torque and overall rideability.
The scrambler comes with a range of accessories, merchandise, a riding community, and a host of customisation options. Like Royal Enfield, TVS has also launched an online configurator for personalisation.
TVS is offering an AR experience through the TVS ARIVE app. There are a total of 6 colours on offer.
The Magma Red and Lightning Back are reserved for base variant, Delta Blue and Stargaze Black are reserved for mid variant, and Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange are reserved for the top-end variant.
The Ronin will take the fight head-on against the likes of the Royal Enfield Scram, Yezdi Scrambler, and Honda CB350RS.
