Joining the list of off-road motorcycles offered by the company, Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the entry-level DR-Z50 mini bike. The motorcycle is designed for young rookie riders to start riding and develop their skills at an early stage.
The DR-Z50 is a proper MX-styled mini bike in its scale. It is powered by a 49cc air-cooled 4-stroke motor that is equipped with an electric starter and a three-speed transmission coupled to an automatic clutch. The uniqueness of the motor is that it features a controllable powerband with adjustment for the power output, thus allowing young riders to learn safely at an ideal pace.
On the other hand, the mini-bike features a ground clearance of 135mm and a low seat height of 560mm. The DR-Z50 tips the scale at 54 kgs, which is manageable by young riders. In terms of cycle parts, the bike features inverted forks up front and an oil-damped coil spring monoshock at the back. It rides with 10-inch spoke wheels shod with tube-type knobby tyres, and drum brakes at both ends. Suzuki offers the DR-Z50 in only one colour scheme named, Championship Yellow No. 2.
