The Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is Triumphs answer to the demand of those seeking a neo-retro cruiser but with a little practicality. It takes the format of the Bonneville Bobber, adds a rear seat, a 16-inch front wheel, a twin-disc brake setup at the front, a bigger 12-litre fuel tank and a cruise control system. There is provision to hitch saddlebags as well. It is powered by the same 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel twin powerplant that powers the Bonneville Bobber.
Here, it generates 76bhp and 106Nm and runs its output via a six-speed gearbox. The Speedmaster doesnt have too many electronics other than ABS and a two-mode throttle setup, Road and Rain in which the latter softens throttle response. There are around 130 accessories which you can add to the Speedmaster, but to avoid a lengthy buying process, Indian buyers can opt for either the Highway or Maverick Inspiration kits, which will make the Speedmaster look pre-customised from the factory. The Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster costs Rs 12.3 lakh, and competes with the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom. The Moto Guzzi California 1400 is also a similar motorcycle, although the pricing is almost double that of the Triumph.
