Description

Triumph Speed Twin is a cruiser bike available at a starting price of Rs. 10,99,000 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 3 colours. The Triumph Speed Twin is powered by 1200cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 98.6 bhp and a torque of 112 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Triumph Speed Twin comes up with anti-locking braking system. The Euro5/BS6-compliant Triumph Speed Twin has made its debut, and the latest iteration of the motorcycle features several styling, feature, and mechanical upgrades.

The styling upgrades on the 2021 model include new anodised headlight mounts, new mudguard mounts, 12-spoke alloy wheels, and new graphics. Features such the rounded fuel tank with Monza cap, bench seat, and bar-end mirrors have been retained from the Euro4/BS4 version. The motorcycle will be sold in three colours “ Red Hopper, Matte Storm Grey, and Jet Black. The motorcycle boasts a seat height of 809mm while the kerb weight is rated at 216kg.

Standard equipment on the motorcycle includes full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, USB power socket, and an engine immobiliser. The company will offer a wide-range of optional accessories for the Speed Twin.

Mechanical specifications retain the 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled layout. The updated model, however, makes slightly more power than its predecessor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the updated engine makes 98.6bhp at 7,250rpm as against 96bhp on the old motorcycle. The peak torque remains at 112Nm although it now comes at 4,250rpm as against 4,950rpm on the old model. The electronic rider aids include three modes (Rain, Road, and Sport), traction control system, and ABS. The claimed fuel economy stands at 5.1-litre/100km (or 19.60kmpl).

The 2021 Triumph Speed Twin also gets improved hardware over its predecessor. The suspension tasks are handled by 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks with cartridge damping at the front and preload-adjustable twin-sided springs at the rear. The braking setup includes 320mm twin discs at the front that are grabbed by Brembo M50 callipers. The anchoring setup at the back comprises a 220mm single rotor with a Nissin-sourced calliper. The 17-inch, 12-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in Metzeler Racetec RR tyres.
