Description

This Bike is out of production.

Based on the entry-level Street Twin, the Street Scrambler is a motorcycle from Triumph Motorcycles that aims at both city and off-road use. Besides using the same cycle parts from the Street Twin, the Scrambler variant features few additional components that make the motorcycle more off-road worthy. It features raised scrambler-styled high dual exhausts and an engine skid plate. The bike also gets an aluminium rack at the rear and removable pillion foot pegs.

For 2019, the motorcycle gets cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. It receives a revised instrument console with a more classic look and new headlamp brackets with brushed aluminium finish. Designed for mild-off-roading, the Street Scrambler comes equipped with 19-inch wheels that are wrapped in dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. Suspension units for the 2019 edition have been upgraded with slightly more spaced out cartridge-tyre forks up front and twin shocks for the rear. The 2019 edition also receives a new braking system which includes a 310mm disc with a four-pot Brembo caliper for the front and a 255mm disc with a two-pot Nissin caliper at the back.

Electronics package includes switchable traction control, ride-by-wire system and ABS as standard. The motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 899cc parallel-twin motor. However, it has been re-tuned to produce 10bhp more, taking the max power output to 64bhp. Torque output continues to remain at 80Nm. Besides the power hike, the motor weighs lesser thanks to the use of a lighter crankshaft, balancer rod and magnesium cam covers for the cylinder head. For the 2019 model, the motorcycle also gets three riding modes; Road, Rain and Off-Road as standard equipment.

The Off-Road mode allows the rider with complete control of the bikes power and brakes by switches off both ABS and traction control. The mode can be selected only when the bike is stationary. In its segment, the Street Scrambler faces direct competition only from the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled in India, although the BMW R nineT Scrambler also is a similar motorcycle.
