Triumph Motorcycles launched 11 motorcycles in India last year. The Triumph Street Triple is one amongst the street fighter segment of motorcycles that is very aggressively designed. There is a mixed reaction about the headlamp setup, some think that they look ugly, while some say that the beast has got beautiful eyes. The tail lamps get a neat design and the turning indicators are integrated with LED lamps. The fact is that the overall design is very radical. The front brakes are equipped with a 310mm disc used against a Nissin caliper while the rear brake gets a 220 mm Brembo.
The front suspension comes with a 41 mm inverted fork, while the rear one is an adjustable mono shock, KYB being used in both. The Street Triple has a switchable ABS option and features a coded immobiliser which prevents it from being stolen by miscreants. The Triumph Street Triple is powered by a 675cc triple-cylinder engine that produces 107bhp of power and 69Nm of torque. The chassis is incorporated with aluminium and on account of the twin spar design, the motorcycle has a low centre of gravity.
Triumph Motorcycles announced that some of the motorcycles from their range will be brought to India via the CBU route and some via the CKD route. Thankfully, the Street Triple is being assembled locally at the Manesar facility, making the manufacturer price the motorcycle at an aggressive price in our country. It goes up against the Kawasaki Z800 and the Ducati Monster 795 in the Indian market.
