The Street Triple RS is the higher spec and more powerful version of the Street Triple S.The design language of the RS remains similar to the standard Street Triple with the raw streetfighter styling and trademark LED bug-eye headlamp unit. However, the RS gets a matt silver paint finish sub-frame, body-coloured belly pan and seat cowl. The Street Triple RS is powered by a 765cc inline three cylinder engine as the standard bike, although tweaked to produce more power at 121bhp at 11700rpm and 77Nm of maximum torque at 10800rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox with quickshifter.
Stopping power is taken care of by Brembo M50 brake callipers with 310mm discs at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. The Street Triple RS rides on fully-adjustable Showa 41mm forks upfront and fully-adjustable Ohlins at the rear. The electronics package includes a traction control system, switchable ABS and five riding modes- Sport, Road, Rain, Rider, and Track. All the electronics and basic information like speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge is displayed on the full-colour TFT screen.
It is offered in a total of four paint schemes, a matte silver, matte black, black and white. The Triumph Street Triple RS competes against the Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Aprilia Shiver 900 and the MV Agusta Brutale 800 in India and is priced at Rs 10.55 lakhs (ex-showroom).
